About this Class

Yoga extends far beyond doing postures. It is a way of living. The yamas and niyamas are the ethical principles of yoga. These guidelines are like helping hands moving us deeper into our own authenticity and into a life that is richer and fuller than we could ever imagine. Each month we will explore one of these guidelines for living: nonviolence, truthfulness, nonstealing, nonexcess, nonpossessiveness, purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender. If possible, purchase the book, "The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice" by Deborah Adele. Please read or listen to (if you use Audible) Chapter : Ishvara Pranidhana-Surrender, prior to our December class. You may always join us without having read or listened to the chapter and just participate from your own experiences around our topic. Please wear loose, comfortable clothes as class often includes deep breathing, movement, and meditations and we often sit on the floor. Chairs are available, as well as hot tea. Enjoy a community of like-minded souls exploring the path toward their best selves and best lives.
